BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sunday, October 29 – Participants of the 2nd session of the Civic Village Programme 2017 for Brunei Graduates have undergone various teamwork activities organised by the Information Department to prepare themselves for a lifelong career.
Challenging confidence and communication skills building activities were carried out by instructors from the Outward Bound Brunei Darussalam (OBBD), at the Sungai Kebun Sports Complex.
In an interview with a Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) graduate majoring in Physics, Awang Mohamad Amiruddin bin Hamdan said that the activities might not seem to be important at first, but nevertheless it was very beneficial for the participants in preparing themselves to be better team players in the coming future, especially in the field of work.
With an interest in the business field, he is also looking forward to the visits organised, such as the local chilli plantation located in Kampong Sinaut, Tutong District, in which he can interact with the entrepreneur regarding the challenges in starting up a business and how to overcome these challenges.
Dayang Nur Diyana binti Haji Muhd. Hasrin, a graduate from Kankuk University, Korea, majoring in Chemistry, said that she became interested in joining the programme after hearing about it from friends and thus grabbed the opportunity to learn about the Government system and the Private Sector.
"I hope that I will be able to share my experiences in Korea with my friends in this programme and I am also keen in attending the talks and visits selected for throughout the programme," she added.
Participants will camp for 6 days 5 nights at the Sungai Kebun Sports Complex and undergo various talks, dialogues, activities (leisure and religious) as well as visits.
