By: Noraisah Haji Muhammed / Photo: Muhammad Asri Haji Awang AbasSERIA, Tuesday, 6 March. - A total of 161 students of Year 7, 9 and 10 of St. Magaret Seria School were entertained with homrous comedy and quizzes delivered by local comedians as part of an efforts by Department of Information, Belait District Information Branch, in implementing the Information Youth Partnership Programme (RRP). The programme was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the school.
The programme is a performance for the youth particulary school students in disseminating information that aims to reach out to the youth in the schools so that they are sensitive to the current devlopments, in addition to instilling patriotism and social responsibility among them and as well as making them as an agents in disseminating positive and effective information to peers. It also aims to provide civic consciousness and patrotism especially to adolescents towards the formation of positive minds and morals at the same time it is intended to approach youths and teenagers in a schools through directed and guided entertainment art.
Present as the guest of honour was Senior Education Officer, Department of Schools, Haji Kadri bin Mohammad Yusof. The ceremony began with the National Anthem 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' and patriotic songs 'Bendera Negara', by students of Year 7, 9 and 10 of the school.
The programme followed by vidoes; the 'InfodeptBN' and the 'Kibarkanlah Bendera Negara Dengan Megah' and continued with briefing, titled 'Our Sovereign, Appreciating the National Flag and National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam' presented by the Head of Belait District Information Branch, Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahhuddin .
The programme was graced by a video clips of 'Hoisting Our National Flag', Animation video "Procedure on Hositing the National Flag' and also dances and choir performances from students. The guest of honour also presented a prize to 10 students who successfully answered the quiz and the received souvenirs from the school.
