BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Saturday, February 2. - As one of the ongoing efforts to nurture affection for the sovereign, religion, nation and country, through the Nationhood Unit of the Nationhood and Community Division, the Department of Information of the Prime Minister's Office held its Nationhood Briefing Programme on 'Our Sovereign, and Appreciating the Brunei Darussalam National Flag and National Anthem'. The nationhood briefing was carried out at several schools nationwide. The Nationhood Briefing held at the Rimba I Secondary School was delivered by the Head of the Nationhood Unit of the Nationhood and Community Division, Hajah Hamsah binti Datu Kerna Haji Jaya. Her briefing covered topics on our sovereign, etiquette on hoisting the national flag and the historical background of the Brunei Darussalam national anthem, 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan.' Present at the briefing were the Deputy Principal of Administration of the Rimba I Secondary School, Awang Abdul Halim bin Haji Bujang; the teaching staff and more than 100 students of Year 7. The event was enlivened with video presentation on the national flag, 'Kibarkan Bendera Negara Kita' and animation on the etiquette on hoisting the national flag, 'Tatacara Menaikkan Bendera Negara'. The students also participated in the nationhood quiz organised by the Department of Information. The Nationhood Briefing held at the Sayyidina Ali Secondary School of Kuala Belait was delivered by the Head of the Belait Information Branch Office, Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin. Present at the briefing were the Deputy Principal of Administration, Dayang Hajah Mazizan binti Haji Mohammad; the teaching staff and students of Year 7. The Nationhood Briefing held at the Belalong Hall of the Pekan Bangar Community Hall Complex were attended by the teaching staff of the Sultan Hassan Secondary School and students of Year 7. The briefing was delivered by the Information Field Officer of the Temburong Information Branch Office, Awang Ah Chua bin Bangau. The Nationhood Briefing is hoped to strengthen solidarity, patriotism and nationhood among students through the national anthem and national flag.
